Bankroller of King Faisal Football Club Alhaji Karim Grusah has suggested that he used a royal intermediary to ensure Asante Kotoko play it soft against team when the two teams met on 3rd July in Obuasi.
King Faisal finished 14th on the final league standings on 41 points to avoid relegation by the skin of their teeth.
Faisal , relegation-threatened all season-long, needed to win the Week 32 game against Kotoko in order to stay safe from the relegation mire but that game ended 1-1 and Grusah has now spilled the beans.
“We went to see a Chief for him to talk to Kotoko so that they do something to help us when we were about playing them in Obuasi. We wanted them to help us but they did not. Saying that we wanted them to help us does not mean fixed match. There are so many ways they can help us and so I am not talking about fixed match here” Grusah revealed to Fox FM on Monday.
“I had even talked to Nana Yaw Amponsah the Kotoko CEO and he said he cannot do anything for me. And the Chief too did not do anything to help us in that matter” he added.
