Ghanaian striker Asumah Abubakar says it will be difficult for him to forget the good time he had at SC Kriens after sealing a three-year move to FC Lugano.
The goal-machine joined FC Lugano on Monday after impressing hugely at Kriens last campaign.
”SC Kriens and the people at SCK believed in me, and I owe them a lot. I will always have fond memories of my time in Kriens.” said Asumah Abubakar.
Bruno Galliker on the other hand said ”Abu has really started off with us and it was only a matter of time before he made the next step into a higher league. With Abu we are unfortunately losing our goal guarantor, who must now be replaced.”
Abubakar, 23, joined SC Kriens from Dutch second division club MVV Maastricht in the summer of 2019 and quickly developed into a goal guarantee and also a crowd favorite.
He played 50 games and scored 22 goals with 10 assists to his name at Kriens before completing his move to the top-tier side on Monday.
Abubakar, who also boasts two appearances and a goal with the Portuguese U19 national team, was recently named best player of the 2020 Challange League alongside Davide Callà and Petar Pusic.
