Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston, says he ‘will be very happy’ if ex-teammates at the national team, Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan finally opt to play in the Ghana Premier League before their retirement.
Both players have been linked with Ghana’s admirable clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
Muntari was earlier purported to be sealing a deal with the Phobians, with board member of the club Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe stating the club’s door is open for the for Inter Milan star.
Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan has not hid his admiration for Asante Kotoko, revealing he will retire at the Kumasi based outfit.
Laryea Kingston, who played for Hearts before retiring, believes the return of Gyan and Muntari will increase the league’s popularity.
“I think they [Muntari and Gyan] coming into the league will be a huge boost. They have achieved a lot in Europe. I think that everyone would want to come and watch them play in the league. For me I will be very happy if they come,” Laryea told Joy Sports.
The Ghana Premier League is currently on suspension due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
