Former Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye has expressed optimism about the club’s chances in the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians showed steady improvement during the 2024/25 campaign, finishing in the top four—a significant turnaround from the previous season when they narrowly escaped relegation. Though they ended the season without a trophy, their progress has renewed confidence within the camp and among former players.
Quaye was present at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday as Hearts defeated Heart of Lions 2-0 to clinch the 2025 Homowo Cup, and he was particularly impressed by the team’s display.
“I see a lot of positives in the team going into the new season. I’m confident Hearts of Oak will finish among the top four in the league next season,” he said.
With the recent appointment of Didi Dramani as head coach, Hearts are now targeting a push for the Premier League title as they continue rebuilding.
The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League kicks off on the weekend of September 12, with Hearts set to open their campaign against newly promoted Hohoe United.
