Ghanaian Referee Daniel Laryea says he is not worried after being snubbed by CAF for the 2017 Africa under 20 Youth championship slated for Zambia.
A list released by the continent’s football governing body on Tuesday, indicated that no referee from Ghana was named for the event.
12 center referees and 14 assistants have been named by CAF. Ghana has seven FIFA Referees and seven assistants but none was selected by CAF raising huge concerns over the performance of match officials in the country.
But Referee Laryea insists he is not perturbed since he is still learning.
“CAF have their stages of referees on the young talents elite A and B and the A, represent the AFCON and the B for their other juvenile tournaments”
“So for me i am not worried at all because in Ghana we have only two that’s Joseph Lamptey and David Laryea but we have to start training young referees here in Ghana so that they will go for the new FIFA’s young talent programs so that will be selected”he told Starr FM
