Asante Kotoko left-back Ibrahim Imoro has been handed a late Black Stars selection for the 2021 AFCON qualifying games against South Africa & Sao Tome and Principe.
The Kotoko defender is one of the highest scoring defenders in the Ghana Premier league and this late invitation is well deserved and merited.
He was initially overlooked by CK Akonnor but the former Bolga All Stars and Karela United player has been considered due to injury to the regular left back position holder Gideon Mensah.
Gideon Mensah made the final 29-man squad but only lasted 45 minutes in Vitória Guimarães’ 4-2 loss to Gil Vicente in the Portuguese Primera Liga last weekend and his recovery has been late, making him not able to travel to Ghana for the two games.
This has taken the total number of Kotoko players in the national team to four namely Ibrahim Danlad, Ismail Ganiyu, Kwame Poku and Imoro.
