Ghanaian midfielder Farouk Mohammed was on target for Enyimba FC who posted a 2-1 win over Lobi Stars in Nigerian top-flight on Wednesday.
The 25-year old midfielder who has been in top form in the Nierian Professional League this term, bossed the midfield to help his side clinch all three points in the difficult fixture played at the Enyimba Stadium.
The hosts picked an early lead through Victor Chukwuma Mbaoma in the seventh-minute mark of the game before the Ghanaian international increased the lead to 2-0 in the 42nd minute from the spot.
Enyimba were awarded a penalty after their player was brought down by a Lobi Stars defender. Farouk Mohammed stepped forward and expertly put the back at the back of the net to end the first for two nil in favour of the home team.
Striker Ossy Martins, however, got the only consolation goal for Lobi Stars after recess when he scored a fine goal in the 51st minute.
Enyimba FC currently sits seventh on the league standings with 38 points despite having two outstanding games to clear as a result of their participation in the Caf Confederation Cup competition.
Farouk Mohammed helped Enyimba FC to reach the quarter-finals of the 2020/21 Caf Confederation Cup before being kicked out by Egyptian side Pyramids FC after a 5-2 aggregate defeat.
