The former Juventus wing-back has not played for Inter Milan in the last 23 outings of the team of Antonio Conte and the last time Kwadwo Asamoah appeared in a game for the Italian giants he came on as a 72nd minute substitute in a Week 15 league match at AS Roma.
Inter – 4th on the league table after 31 games – failed to win at Hellas Verona despite taking a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute and 31-year old Asamoah remained on the bench throughout the game played on Thursday night.
The reasons for the lack of playing time for the Ghanaian are obvious. Firstly there is the genuine excuse of a niggling injury that has disturbed Kwadwo Asamoah over the years and the second reason is Ashley Young. The former Manchester United defender is the preferred left wing-back for Antonio Conte and he is hardly not on the team.
Asamoah joined Inter on a free transfer from arch rivals Juventus in the Summer of 2018 and had a good first season with the club but since then things have not exactly went to plan for the highly experienced full back.
Inter will part ways with Kwadwo Asamoah at the end of this season according to Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
