Black Stars played to a goalless draw at the Cape Coast stadium on Saturday evening against neighbors Ivory Coast.
The two West African countries offered fans in Ghana and the across the globe with a good game on display as they canceled each other out.
Ghana started the game well with a good passing game in the opening exchanges of the match but could not really worry the Ivorian goalie who was on a holiday for the first 10 minutes.
The home team took the game to the visitors who also responded well and started finding their rhythm with some good inter-positional play causing a lot of problems for the Ghana team.
Christian Senghor got a glorious chance to score the opening goal of the match after he was set up by former, Frankfurt and West Ham striker Sebastian Haller but he missed the posts by inches from a good position.
Haller’s tame header was equally dealt with Ghana’s goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi as the first half ended goalless.
The second half started with some high tempo to the game by both teams as both coaches brought on some fresh limps for the second period of the match.
AC Milán star Franck Kessie almost grabbed the winner but his deflected shot missed the cross bar by inches.
Manchester United youngster, Amad Diallo wowed fans after coming on and was a constant threat to the back line of the Black Stars.
The game was fairly balanced in the second half but lacked clear cut chances throughout the game as they both played with some cautiousness.
Into stoppage time, Alain Max Gradel’s brilliant free-kick was tipped over the bar by Ati-Zigi as the game ended goalless after 90 minutes of entertaining football in Cape Coast.
