Ghanaian midfielder, Elisha Owusu has expressed delight after recovering from injury return injury and ready to feature for KAA Gent.
Owusu has been named in his team’s 23-man squad to face RSC Anderlecht this week at the Lotto Park.
“It is nice to be back on the field next to my teammates. Rehabilitation is hell as a football player, but I didn’t want to rush anything,” said Owusu.
“I would have been on the field faster I could stand, but I’d rather not take any risks. I can play 90 minutes again, but my level can still go up, everyone can see that.”
“The 16th place in the ranking hurts the eyes. This is for us, the staff but especially for the supporters. It is below average. You can speak of bad luck in a few matches, but we also have to look at ourselves. Football is more then play. It’s hard work every day.Our goal now? Climb up in the standings. It sounds cliché but every next game is a final.”
