Former Black Stars Coach James Kwasi Appiah has hit back at the FA in the wake of claims that it’s the sports ministry that will settle his unpaid salaries.
The 61-year –old last week through his lawyers wrote to the FA for the second time demanding his unpaid salaries and bonuses amounting to $185,000 being his unpaid salaries from August to December 2019.
The former Al Watani trainer in an exclusive interview with Starr Sports says it’s the responsibility of the Ghana football Association to make sure the sports ministry pays him the arrears he is owed.
“The issue people don’t understand is that I did not sign a contract with the sports ministry.
“I sign a contract with the GFA so if I got issues it is the FA I have to deal with .And from where I stand , I know the sports ministry is just assisting or supporting the FA so it is the FA’s responsibility to make sure I get paid “he told Starr Sports.
“If I take the ministry or the FA to court or FIFA, they will ask me for a copy of my contract and it is the FA President and general secretary who signed it, it got nothing to do with the sports ministry” he added.
“I don’t understand why people are saying I receive my salary from the ministry so I should go and tackle them, no.
