Bibiani Goldstars coach Frimpong Manso has his eyes set on securing a respectable finish in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. The team from Bibiani has been in fine form, securing four wins and three draws in their first seven matches of the campaign, putting them at the top of the standings.
Despite their strong start, Manso remains focused on maintaining steady progress rather than aiming for the league title at this stage. In an interview with Akoma FM, he made it clear that their priority is to finish the season in a solid position.
“For the time being, we have not set a specific goal, but as a team, we aim to gain the most points possible from each game and complete the season in a respectable place,” Manso stated.
He also cautioned against setting high expectations too early in the season, especially with many of his players experiencing Premier League football for the first time. “I don’t want to say we’re going to win the league after seven games because that will put too much pressure on the players. Remember, most of the players are only getting a taste of the Premier League, and setting such lofty goals for them will put too much pressure on them. That doesn’t mean that if the opportunity to win arises, we won’t take it; we will,” he explained.
Manso emphasized the importance of taking the season one game at a time, saying, “All I’m trying to say is that it’s too early to predict whether or not we’ll win it. We’ll go into each game with a winning mentality and see what happens.”
With his measured approach, Manso aims to keep his team grounded while continuing their impressive start to the campaign.
