Astute football administrator, Jonathan Abbey Pobee has said that he does not predict any jail term for Ghana Football Association chief Kwesi Nyantakyi despite being a constant critique of his administration.
President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday May 22, 2018, directed the Criminal Investigations Department to arrest the GFA boss for defrauding by false pretence and influence peddling.
The order comes on the heels of the exposé by Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Number 12 undercover documentary which exposed the GFA president as using the name of the president for certain purposes.
Sources at the Presidency say, the President had the opportunity of having the Anas exposé screened privately for the President, Vice President and some high ups in government, which establishes the fact that Kwasi Nyantakyi used the President’s name for some questionable deals.
Since the news broke on Tuesday afternoon, Ghanaians particularly anti Kwesi Nyantakyi people have severely called for an immediate prosecution of him with others calling for his resignation as leader of the Ghana Football Association.
But speaking on Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah on Wednesday, the owner and bankroller of Neoplan Stars said despite being a continuous critique of the Kwesi Nyantakyi’s administration, he does not pray for the CAF first vice president to be handed any jail term and that he only want to see him completely changed.
”I don’t pray for Nyantakyi to be jailed, I only want him to change from some of the things he’s doing” said the astute football administrator.
He added ” I have always complained about the rots in Nyantakyi’s administration which have seen a total decline of our domestic football and that is what I want to change. I seriously what Kwesi Nyantakyi to change but to to be jailed.
