Javier Tebas, the La Liga president, was sceptical of rumours saying that Erling Haaland will go to Barcelona. The head of the Spanish league believes that Barcelona do not have the money for that to happen.
Many clubs are dreaming about signing Erling Haaland. Barcelona are one of them, but given Barcelona’s current finances, it seems unlikely. Even Tebas thinks it is impossible.
That is what he said at a La Liga promotional event. “I don’t think it’s possible for Barcelona to sign Haaland because of the numbers and economic control. Lots of things would have to happen and Raiola doesn’t sell on the cheap. His sales are expensive,” he said.
When asked about alleged negotiations with Barca over CVC, Tebas shrugged his shoulders. “Yes, I know that Barcelona are talking to CVC, but I don’t know what they are negotiating,” he said.
“On being sued, when Real Madrid are involved, we’re used to it. We’d had more than 50 and today we’ve learned we have another. If I’d have listened to all the threats I wouldn’t be here today,” Tebas added.
