AZ Alkmaar goalkeeper Jayden Owusu-Oduro is reportedly on the verge of earning his first call-up to the Ghana senior national team, the Black Stars.
The 20-year-old, who has been in impressive form for AZ Alkmaar this season, has caught the attention of Ghana’s technical team with his consistent performances in the Dutch Eredivisie and European competitions.
Owusu-Oduro, born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, has represented the Dutch youth teams but remains eligible to play for Ghana. His potential inclusion is seen as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s goalkeeping department ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
Sources indicate that discussions are at an advanced stage, with the young shot-stopper expected to be named in Ghana’s next squad announcement.
