Jerry Afriyie produced an outstanding display for RAAL La Louvière as they secured a hard-fought goalless draw against RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League.
The 19-year-old Ghanaian youngster played the full duration of the match and showed great maturity against one of Belgium’s biggest clubs. Afriyie remained calm under pressure and played a key role in helping his side stay compact and disciplined throughout the game.
Anderlecht controlled much of the possession and pushed forward in search of a goal, but La Louvière stood firm. Under the guidance of coach Fred Taquin, the team maintained a solid defensive shape while waiting patiently for opportunities to counterattack.
Afriyie contributed both defensively and in transition, helping his teammates regain confidence as the match progressed. His composed performance earned him a strong rating of 7.0, highlighting his growing influence during his loan spell.
At the final whistle, La Louvière walked away with a valuable point after a determined and collective effort. Afriyie’s steady rise in Belgian top-flight football continues to show why he is regarded as one of Ghana’s brightest young talents playing abroad.
