English-Ghanaian forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi produced a standout performance, scoring the opener as Stoke City secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at the bet365 Stadium.
Rak-Sakyi broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, calmly finishing after connecting with a well-timed pass from Sorba Thomas, giving Stoke a deserved lead heading into the break.
The hosts continued to dominate after halftime, and Lamine Cissé doubled the advantage in the 57th minute, capping an impressive display from Mark Robins’ side.
Stoke were the more dangerous team throughout the contest, with their attacking trio of Million Manhoef, Rak-Sakyi, and Cissé consistently troubling Wednesday’s defense and forcing goalkeeper Pierce Charles into several saves. Despite enjoying more possession, the visitors struggled to create clear chances and rarely looked capable of mounting a comeback.
The goal marks another positive contribution for Rak-Sakyi, who continues to build momentum in the 2025/26 Championship season, now tallying two goals in ten appearances.
The victory provides a timely boost for Stoke City as they prepare for their next league fixture against Derby County at Pride Park on April 6, 2026.
