Former Germany head coach Joachim Löw is on the brink of taking charge of Ghana’s Black Stars on a short-term deal reportedly worth €150,000 per month, with personal terms close to being finalised.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup-winning manager is nearing an agreement following intense negotiations over the past 24 hours, as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) moves swiftly to secure a high-profile replacement for Otto Addo.
Löw, who spent 15 years in charge of Germany and led Die Mannschaft to World Cup glory in Brazil 2014, brings vast experience and tactical expertise that could provide much-needed stability to the Black Stars.
Ghana have been without a permanent head coach since Addo’s dismissal, which followed a disappointing run of results in recent international friendlies. With just over two months until their World Cup opener against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, urgency has intensified within the GFA to finalize an appointment.
Should the deal be completed, Löw’s immediate task will be to guide Ghana through a difficult Group L, which includes England, Croatia, and Panama.
