Ghanaian striker Joe Dodoo netted in each half on Tuesday night as Doncaster Rovers defeated Scunthorpe by three goals to two in the EFL Cup.
Dodoo netted the second goal for his side in the 16th minute after a fantastic breakaway which involved Rodrigo Vilca. The attacker raced forward with the ball in a three versus two situation before sliding the ball to the Ghanaian who opened up his body and finished superbly into the far corner.
Scunthorpe took hold of the game and pulled one back in the 36th minute through Green Loft but Dodoo punished them with his second of the day in the 59th minute.
The striker showed sheer brilliance as he picked the ball up on the left and drove on a direct diagonal run into the box before lashing a low drive into the bottom corner of goalkeeper Watson post.
Dodoo has been instrumental since joining Rovers two months ago as a free agent and he has now netted five goals in 14 games in all competitions.
