French Ligue 1 side FC Metz coach Frédéric Antonetti says he regret losing Ghana defender, a warrior in his team before the start of the 2021-22 season.
The experienced Ghanaian was the captain for Ligue 1 side and was a delight to watch throughout the 2020-21 season in France.
The Ghanaian presently plays for Saudi Arabian side Al Fayha after refusing a contract renewal at the French club.
“I regret because he was our warrior,” said Antenetti. “We are orphaned of a good defender as he is,” he added.
Metz are now 18th on the Ligue 1 table and have not won a single match season in five attempts without the Ghanaian.
He was a pivot and the fulcrum at the back for Metz last season and was the leader of the club as they finished mid table.
FC Metz will play Racing Strasbourg on match day 6 of the French Ligue One on Friday.
