Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko Johnson Smith has spoken about his midfielders who are yet to register a single goal this season.
The Porcupine Warriors have scored 12 goals this season in 14 games and the contribution of the midfielders still stand at zero goals.
Majority of the goals have come from the boots of the strikers namely Kwame Poku, Osman Ibrahim and Naby Keita. Poku has scored 7 goals as Osman and Keita are on a goal each.
The other three goals of the club have been scored by defenders Imoro Ibrahim who has 2 goals this season and right back Christopher Nettey who has scored once.
But Latif Anabila, Emmanuel Sarkodies, Mudasiru Salifu and co are yet to score a goal this season and ahead of the Elmina Sharks game on Friday, Smith discussed the worrying issue.
“We have prepare the team in a way that we do not rely only the strikers for goals. So going into this game we have trained the midfielders on how they can also help the team in the area of goals.” Smith said ahead of the Friday encounter with Sharks.
