Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew is not ruling out the possibility of remaining at Leicester City, even after their relegation to the Championship.
Ayew, who joined the Foxes on a two-year contract last summer, still has one year left on his deal. While many expect him to move on in search of top-flight football, the experienced attacker insists he’s not rushing to make a decision about his future.
“I still have a year left on my contract,” Ayew told Flashscore. “I’m happy at Leicester. Staying is an option, and so is leaving.”
The 33-year-old featured in 36 matches during the past campaign, scoring six goals. He was deployed in multiple positions under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy and consistently earned praise for his commitment and professionalism, even as the team endured a difficult season.
With key players such as Jamie Vardy and Danny Ward already departing, Leicester are preparing for a significant rebuild. Ayew’s leadership and experience could play an important role if he decides to remain at the club.
As he considers his next step, Ayew is carefully evaluating all options, aware of how unpredictable the football world can be.
