Ghanaian duo Jordan Ayew and Jefferey Schlupp were in action for Crystal Palace as they defeated Manchester United 3-1 at the Old Trafford on Saturday in their opening game of the 2020/21 Premier League season.
Andros Townsend opened the scoring for the visitors after just seven minutes into the game when he calmly slotted home Jefferey Schlupp’s cross to give Crystal Palace a 1-0 lead after before break.
Wilfried Zaha extended Place’s lead to 2-0 in the 74th minute from the spot after retaking the kick which was initially missed by Jordan Ayew.
Manchester United Goalkeeper David De Gea had moved before the ball was kicked by Ayew, giving Zaha the second chance to convert the penalty.
Captain Winfried Zaha again struck five minutes later to grab his first brace of the season as Crystal Palace clinched all three points at the Old Trafford Stadium.
Schlupp was, however, replaced by new signing Eberechi Eze in the 75th minute with Jordan Ayew making way Chelsea loanee Michy Batshuayi in the 81st-minute mark of the game.
