Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil was on target as LA Galaxy secured a 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer (MLS) action on Sunday.
The 27-year-old finally broke his goal drought, netting his first goal of the 2025 season after going ten matches without scoring. His much-needed goal gave the Galaxy a crucial lead in a tightly contested game.
Paintsil’s strike energized the home side, who went on to add a second goal to seal all three points at home. The win boosts LA Galaxy’s standing in the Western Conference as they push for a playoff spot.
The former Genk star joined Galaxy with high expectations earlier this year and had been contributing with assists and strong performances, but had yet to find the back of the net—until now.
His goal will come as a major confidence booster as he looks to build momentum heading into the second half of the season.
