Julian Nagelsmann, head coach of the Germany national team, has confirmed plans to rotate his squad ahead of their upcoming international friendly against Ghana in Stuttgart.
He explained that the decision is aimed at giving opportunities to players who are returning from injury, while also managing the workload within the team. According to him, the nature of the match makes it necessary to introduce fresh legs and assess different options within the squad.
Germany head into the encounter in impressive form, having extended their winning streak to six matches following a thrilling 4-3 victory over Switzerland at the St. Jakob Park. The strong run of results has boosted confidence within the team as they prepare to face the Black Stars.
Nagelsmann indicated that despite the planned changes, the match remains an important test for his side as they continue preparations for upcoming competitions.
The fixture also rekindles memories of the last meeting between the two nations, which ended in an exciting 2-2 draw during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
With both teams using the game as part of their build-up, the encounter is expected to be highly competitive, even with adjustments to the squad.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:45pm GMT at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart.
