Ghanaian Kevin Berkoe has completed a deadline-day transfer to Shrewsbury Town, with the defender joining the club from Salford for an undisclosed fee.
The former Chelsea and Wolves wing-back makes the move after spending four years with Salford and becomes the first signing under new head coach Gavin Cowan. Berkoe is capable of operating on both the left and right flanks, offering flexibility to the squad.
Head coach Gavin Cowan explained that the decision to sign Berkoe was taken late in the transfer window after assessing the balance of the team. He noted that limited time prevented multiple signings, but strengthening the squad in key areas was necessary.
With his arrival, Shrewsbury Town gain added depth and versatility in wide defensive positions. Kevin Berkoe could make his debut when the club travels to face Colchester this Saturday.
