Kim Lars Björkegren, the Swedish head coach of the Black Queens, has been appointed as an Assistant Coach for Ghana’s senior men’s national team to support head coach Otto Addo.

Björkegren recently guided the Black Queens to a bronze medal at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, reinforcing the team’s competitiveness and international standing.

He also led Ghana to qualification for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament he will continue to oversee, highlighting his consistent record of success in women’s football.

With a managerial career spanning Linköpings FC in Sweden, Beijing BG Phoenix F.C. in China, Apollon Ladies FC in Cyprus, and Racing Louisville FC in the United States, Björkegren has won domestic titles across multiple countries, making him only the second Swedish manager after Sven-Göran Eriksson to achieve such a feat.

His appointment to Ghana’s technical team brings tactical discipline, modern coaching methods, and winning experience, aimed at strengthening strategy, preparation, and overall performance for the Black Stars ahead of major international competitions.
