Kumasi-based Club King Faisal FC defeated West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC in their season opener on Sunday afternoon at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Insha Allah lads pipped the Academy Boys to record their first win of the season with a crucial 1-0 win against the 10-man side.
The opening half of the match ended goalless despite efforts from both teams to get their noses in front.
It was a fairly balanced game between the two teams who were all fired up to take the three maximum points available.
But it was King Faisal who scored very late into the game to pick up their first win of the season through the strike from Zubairu Ibrahim.
It ended 1-0 to the home team.
