Olympiakos Nicosia captain Kingsley Sarfo has revealed he got NO support from the Ghana Football Association during his distressing period in Sweden three years ago.
The 26-year-old has returned to football after a two-year absence following a wrongful incarceration in 2018 while playing for top-flight side Malmo FF.
The highly-talented winger handed a second chance by Olympiakos Nicosia after his released from prison in 2019 after spending close to two-years behind bars over rape charges.
Sarfo, who has featured twice for the Black Stars, has revealed he received no form of support from the Ghana Football Association.
“I didn’t hear from anybody from the GFA. I only got support from friends and close associates. Indeed, it was only Chibsah (Yusif) who got in touch with me and offered me support,” he told Kumasi-based Pure FM on Tuesday.
“I owed a lot of gratitude to my Swedish family especially the Strand family who have been with me from day one.
“To my agent and close friends and relatives who stood with me in my difficult moments. I also received support from the Ghana embassy in Denmark and Sweden.”
