Flagbearer for the Liberal Party of Ghana, Kofi Percival Apaloo has disclosed how he intends investing in unearthing sports talents in women throughout the country if voted into power in the December elections.
He stressed that there is inadequate investment in sports in the country, resulting in the truncated motivation and morale of sportsmen and women.
‘’The next LPG government will pursue the development of the sports sector by investing in a special Women-In-Sports programme to help unearth and support female athletes and sports talents across the country as well as awarding scholarships to promising young athletes to develop in the best of environments’’, Kofi Akpaloo told Firstnewsroom.com in an interview.
Kofi Akpaloo says it will also ensure the modernization of sports through the provision of the right legal framework, by enacting the comprehensive Sports Bill and ensuring that District Assemblies fully participated in sports development and promotion.
He further indicated that this project aims at ensuring gender and social inclusion in national politics and to provide a voice for the youth, vulnerable groups, opinion leaders, and the broader spectrum of the society.
