Hearts of Oak players blame the poor performance of the team on immediate past Coach Kosta Papic favoritism style of coaching.

According to the players, Kosta was fielding his favorite players during match days even if they are injured and this they believe brought division into the team.

The Phobians have been struggling this season as they are currently lying on the 11th position on the league log. Under Kosta Papic tutelage, the Phobians played 10 games where they won four, drew three and lost three. An unconvincing result that the players believe was caused by Papic style of Coaching.

Speaking on behalf of the players during a press briefing, Hearts of Oak Captain Fatawu Mohammed accused Kosta Papic of favoritism in player selection during match days.

“What the boys said about the favoritism is that some feel that they were ready and fit to play the matches that they were not allowed to play. Some also felt that some players return from injury and in no time get selection. So some thought that they work hard yet they are not used by the players.

‘’For example, a player will be out for one or two weeks and upon his return gets called up into the first eleven and so it caused a lot of confusion among the players.

‘’The players started feeling the coach was biased in his selection as it was only his favorite players that got call-ups and this brought division in the team. His style of coaching was not getting us the result as he was fielding favorite players and not ones that were ready and fit to play.” Fatawu added.
