Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has pledged his team’s commitment to sustained effort as they aim for more victories in the coming matches.
His assurance came after Kotoko secured a 2-1 win over True Democracy in the MTN FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday. Ogum expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support, highlighting their belief in the team even in challenging moments.
“For the supporters, I will say a very big thank you to them. They have been very amazing. Today, I saw the support of the 80s and the 90s. They were so hopeful, they knew we were going to win, and so even though time was not on our side, they kept their calm,” he said.
The coach also encouraged fans to remain positive, as negative remarks can affect the players’ confidence.
“As I always say, these players tell me some of the comments put pressure on them, it draws their attention off the field. They should always be positive and be confident. When they do that, we will achieve our targets. But I want to tell you that we are working harder and harder to make sure we get the results,” Ogum added.
With the FA Cup victory behind them, Kotoko will now shift focus to the Ghana Premier League. Their next challenge is an outstanding Week 21 fixture against Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday.
