Asante Kotoko Executive Chairman Dr. Kwame Kywi has expressed his delight with the draw for the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors have been drawn alongside Zambian champions Nkana FC, Zesco United, and Sudanese outfit Al Hilal in Group C of CAF’s second tier club competition.
The Ghanaian giants booked qualification to the Group for the first time in 11 years on Sunday after eliminating Cameroonian side Coton Sport 5-3 on aggregate.
Speaking to Kumasi based FOX FM, the business mogul expressed his confidence in Kotoko, describing the group handed the Porcupines as a good one and even the best one can think of.
‘’Even this one is good, as for this I feel it’s God who has arranged for us, what we needed is what God has given us, it is very good’, Dr. Kyei told FOX FM as he shared his view on the group Kotoko find themselves in.’’
He says no one goes to war with a losing mentality, and assures of being competitive against every opponent that may come the Porcupines’ way.
‘’Whatever be the case we are in the group stage so we will fear no one, because if you go to war with a fear of being defeated then you shall surely be defeated, so any team given us I know there is none we can’t withstand so it’s a very good draw’’, he concluded.
The 2004 Confederations Cup finalists will open the group stage campaign away to Sudanese giants Al Hilal on Sunday February 3 before hosting Zambia’s ZESCO United on February 13 at the Baba Yara stadium.
