Asante Kotoko says its ambition in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup goes beyond mere participation.
Communications Director Samuel Sarfo Duku explained that the Porcupine Warriors, who qualified after winning last season’s FA Cup, are determined to make a strong impact on the continental stage.
He stressed that although their preliminary round opponents, Kwara United of Nigeria, cannot be underestimated, Kotoko is fully focused on advancing. According to him, the club’s status as a football giant in Africa demands a performance that matches its reputation.
Kotoko will host Kwara United in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium between September 19 and 21, before travelling to Nigeria for the return fixture scheduled from September 26 to 28.
Supporters remain hopeful that the team will push beyond the early stages and restore Ghana’s pride in African club football.
