Asante Kotoko new General Manager, George Amoako, has admitted that Asante Kotoko and their biggest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak have indeed lost their bragging rights as the two most powerful clubs on the African continent.
He, however, believes with the right administration and reforms, the dying glory and achievements can be regained in their efforts to put Ghana football in general on a higher pedestal.
According to the ace football administrator, the days when the two could brag as being the powerhouse of the African Football do not exist anymore and that the two clubs ought to sit up in their performances to ensure their enviable glory is reclaimed.
Speaking at the official launch of the clash of the Titans on Wednesday in Kumasi at the True Vine Hotel, the Ghana League Clubs Association treasurer said.
“I must be honest with you, Kotoko and Hearts are gradually losing their prominence and we need to come together to be supreme again,” said George Amoako at the launch of the match at True Vine Hotel in Kumasi.
“We can’t allow ourselves like this only for seemingly smaller clubs to rule Ghana football. The revival of football in Ghana is incumbent on Kotoko and Hearts,” he added.
