Baba Yahaya was awarded the Man of the Match in Asante Kotoko’s 1-1 draw with Karela United on Sunday night at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Karela United surprised the home team by taking an early lead through Evans Adomako in the 9th minute. Adomako outran Asante Kotoko defender Henry Ansu before slotting the ball into the roof of the net for the opening goal.
The Reds pushed for an equalizer but were unable to find one before the first half came to an end.
The pressure eventually paid off in the closing stages as Baba Yahaya secured a point, extending their winless streak to six matches.
The draw leaves Asante Kotoko in 17th place with 2 points after two draws and one defeat in the opening three games of the season.
Asante Kotoko will face Accra Lions next on Friday at Sogakope in a matchday 4 encounter.
