The management of Ghana Premier League side Kumasi Asante Kotoko are considering the termination of the contract of deputy captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi due to gross insubordination, according to reports from Kumasi FM.
Gyamfi’s attitude in the camp of the Kumasi-based club after his contract extension has raised some questions in recent times, with some members of the team addressing it as defiant.
The player recently put pen to paper on a new 18-months deal with the Porcupine Warriors upon the expiration of his previous deal at the Baba Yara sports stadium.
However, the club are reportedly questioning the decision to have his deal with the club extended following his recent attitude.
His performances in the latter stages of the league saw the Porcupine Warriors drop some vital points, including fouling a player in the penalty box during Kotoko’s 2-1 defeat to Bechem United.
These kind of displays have led to the management of the club considering showing him an early exit from the club prior to the 2021/22 season.
