Asante Kotoko’s highly-rated youth team prospect Vitus Kwasi Avoka is on the verge of securing a move to Serbian club Radnik Surdulica, with the transfer expected to be completed in the coming days.
The talented youngster, who tasted first-team football with Kotoko last season, is currently plying his trade on loan at Okwahu United in the Division One League, where he has continued his development with regular game time.
A cultured left-footer, Avoka has long been regarded as one of the brightest prospects to emerge from Kotoko’s youth setup in recent years. Comfortable on the ball and noted for his composure, intelligence in possession and ability to contribute in advanced areas, the teenager’s performances have attracted interest beyond Ghana’s borders.
Kotoko view the impending switch as a major step in the player’s development, with the Serbian league seen as a strong platform for young African talents to gain European exposure and progress to higher levels of competition.
If the deal is finalised as expected, Avoka will become the latest Kotoko youth product to take his career abroad, continuing the club’s tradition of nurturing talents capable of competing on the international stage.
