Kurt Okraku has revealed that the Ghana Football Association is investing 100,000 dollars annually to support lower-tier football, as part of efforts to strengthen the foundation of the local game.
The GFA President stated, “At the Division Two and Three levels, we are investing 100,000 dollars a year for the past two years in the acquisition and purchase of footballs.”
According to him, the initiative is aimed at improving the quality of competitions at the grassroots level by ensuring clubs have access to standard equipment. He explained that providing footballs consistently over the past two years forms part of a broader strategy to develop talent and enhance professionalism in local leagues.
Kurt Okraku indicated that real progress in Ghana football must begin from the lower divisions, where many young players start their careers. He believes investing in these levels will create a stronger structure for the future of the sport.
His comments underline the association’s commitment to building football from the ground up, ensuring that clubs in Division Two and Three receive the needed support to compete and grow.
