Former Black Stars talisman, Yaw Preko has thrown his weight behind the striking duo, Kwame Opoku and Kwame Peprah to solve Ghana’s long search for a replacement for Asamoah Gyan.
The Black Stars all-time top-scorer has been out of the team for some time now due to his persistent injuries and lack of form.
Gyan is regarded as one of the best to have donned the Black Stars jersey and his absence looks to have created a big gap in the team – a gap many have failed to fill.
However, the former Medeama Sporting Club believes the former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and King Faisal frontmen are capable of playing a similar role for the team as Gyan if not equally assuming his role.
“Asamoah Gyan’s exit has created a void at Ghana Black Stars and difficult for our attackers to score”.
“I believe strongly that former attacker of King Faisal Football Club and Asante Kotoko Sporting Club respectively, Kwame Peprah and Kwame Opoku are the best pair to fill the goal-scoring void in the National team”, he added.
Gyan last played for Ghana in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt where the West African country was eliminated from the knockout stage by Tunisia.
