Former Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku has said that he is impressed by the quality of the new Kotoko players of this season.
The Porcupine Warriors brought in some new players whilst others departed following the appointment of Prosper Narteh Ogum as new head coach.
Some of the new recruits included ex-Inter Allies midfielder Richmond Lamptey, Richard Boadu, Isaac Oppong from a lower tier side in Sunyani, Joseph Amoako and co and Opoku who scored 7 goals for Kotoko before joining the Algerian side is impressed.
“I have taken time to watch the new Kotoko players and I can say that they are very good.” Opoku who plays for USM Alger of Algeria told Kessben FM.
“My advice to them is not to let the early praises render them complacent. They should continue the hard work and stay focused.” he said.
“There was a time when I was at Kotoko I could not sleep because my name was mentioned on radio all the time and it almost affected my performance. I had to stay focused not to allow the stardom to reduce my output. That is Kotoko. The fans will always hail you when you perform well.” Opoku advised.
Kotoko are joint-top of the Ghana Premier League on six points alongside King Faisal after two games.
