Kwasi Appiah congratulates Maxwell Konadu on Kotoko move, says he’s the best person for the job

Black Stars head coach Kwasi Appiah, has congratulated his former deputy coach Maxwell Konadu on his move to giants Asante Kotoko as the new substantive head coach of the club.

Konadu was on Monday, announced as Kotoko new head coach to replace Norwegian trainer Kjetil Zachariassen who was fired for poor performance.

He joins the Porcupine Warriors on a two-year deal in a bid to restore the club’s lost glory after being unveiled on Wednesday at Adako Jachie.

And Kwasi Appiah who worked with Konadu at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, has saluted him on his return to the club after wining the 2011/2012 Ghana Premier League with them.

”I congratulate him and think he’s the best person for the job,” Appiah said in an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.

”He has played and coached the team, he has enough experience in the local football , he knows the local players ten times better especially as the local black stars coach and this will help him recruit the right players for the club,” the 2014 Ghana World Cup coach added.

Konodu, 48, has been tasked by Asante Kotoko to win the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League and qualify to club to the Caf Champions League.
