Head Coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, James Akwesi Appiah, is on the search for a conducive training camp base for the senior national team, as part of his monitoring of Ghanaian players in Europe.
The head Coach together with his assistant, Ibrahim Tanko, moved outside the shores of the country earlier this week, to have a personal assessment of probable candidates for the black Stars ahead of the Afcon 2019 tournament.
Information on the European tour as reported by the media was restricted to this fore knowledge until a revealing chat with the head coach brought up additional scheduled items as part of the tour.
Speaking to sportsworldGhana.com exclusively, Appiah revealed that, as part of his search and monitoring of Ghanaian players in Europe, he is together with his technical team, dutifully searching for a serene camping base for the black Stars which will help in proper preparations and readiness of the team for the biennial Afcon tourney to be held in Egypt mid of this year.
Currently, Kwesi Appian is in Italy monitoring players like Afriyie Acquah, Alfred Duncan and several others who may be likely candidates for selection into the black Stars.
Ghana has longed for an Afcon trophy since winning the country’s last and fourth Afcon trophy in 1983.
