The spokesperson for the Minister of Youth and Sports, Kofi Asare Brako has blasted ex-Black Stars coach James Kwasi Appiah for dragging the name of the Ministry and the Ghana Football Association in the mud.
The 61-year –old last week, through his lawyers wrote to the FA for the second time demanding his unpaid salaries and bonuses amounting to $185,000 being his unpaid salaries from August to December 2019.
The Ghana FA decided not to renew Kwasi Appiah’s contract which expired on 31st December, 2019 and eventually appointed Charles Akonnor as his replacement.
”Kwasi Appiah is ungrateful to report GFA to FIFA. He should know that when you report GFA you have reported Ghana to FIFA,” Asare Brako told Kumasi-based radio station Nhyira FM.
“FIFA will inquire about the contract document between the two parties and will make a judgement base on your achievement in the contract.
”He failed to perform his four mandates tasked to him in the contract but was not fired.
“He should have even thanked the GFA and the Sports Ministry for that”.
Asare Brako mentioned that Isreali trainer Avram Grant was owned by the Ghana FA after the expiration of his contract but never threatened to report either the FA or the Sports Ministry to the world’s football governing body- FIFA.
“Avram Grant never reported Ghana to FIFA to have his arrears paid until the ministry settled him.
“What Kwasi Appiah is doing makes him ungrateful to Ghana. He should show gratitude to GFA and MoYS.” He concluded.
