AFC Wimbledon striker Kwesi Appiah is hoping to make the Ghana squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Appiah, is yet get invitation to the Black Stars since the departure of former Coach Avram Grant.
The UK based attacker, earned his first invitation under the former Chelsea boss for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 27-year-old wants to make his second Cup of Nations appearance.
“I haven’t heard from the new coach [Kwesi Appiah] but I think I just have to keep playing well and score goals and see what happens after that,” Appiah is quoted by Goal.
“I had a good time with the Black Stars and representing Ghana in the Afcon again will always hold high value in the list of my targets and goals to achieve in 2019. Playing at the tournament again is 100% a target of mine,” he added.
He added: “Of course. I believe the players who have most recently played for the national team have great potentials as well as the consistent performances from the more experienced players from the previous squad.
“We contain the qualities as a team to lift the trophy in the upcoming tournament and I will be glad to be part of the historic moment if the coach will hand me a chance.”
The former Crystal Palace striker scored twice to help Ghana finish second at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
