Former Ghana boxing boss Moses Foe Amoaning has termed Kwesi Appiah’s imminent appointment as Ghana coach as poisoned chalice.
According to the astute lawyer, Kwesi Appiah’s appointment comes at a point when the Black Stars are almost out of the World Cup qualifying race and the team is in near shambles and he needs to be very careful in negotiating for his contract.
Speaking in an interview with Accra based Happy FM, Moses however held that the clarion call from Ghanaians for the return of Kwesi Appiah is a good tiding for the gaffer.
“Kwesi Appiah’s imminent return as Black Stars head coach looks like a poisoned chalice especially since the Black Stars are almost out of the qualifying race for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and Avram Grant didn’t leave the team in good shape,” he said.
“However, I know that Ghanaians will offer their unflinching support to the Kwesi Appiah because it a clarion call from them and they have no option than to help him succeed.” Foh Amoaning said.
