FC Dijon has announced that it has taken the decision not to release its international players playing outside Europe during the next international break at the end of March – as mandated by FIFA.
The Ligue 1 club – who are 20th on the Ligue 1 table after 29 games – has not less than 12 African internationals in their team including Gabon dueo Bruno Ecuele Manga and Didier Ndong as well as Ivorian Roger Assale.
Forced to observe a period of isolation of more than five days upon returning from their selections, internationals playing outside the European area will not be allowed to join their respective national teams meaning the African contingents at the club will not be able to feature during Day 5 and Day 6 of the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualification series in late March.
