English Premier League side Liverpool are said to be monitoring FC Nordjaeland star Caleb Yirenkyi as they believe in his huge talent to strenghten their squad considering his age.
Anfield Watch exclusively reports that the Ghanaian youngster is one of the players the club would be interested in signing.
Liverpool made an approach to sign him in January but this was refused by Nordsjaelland. The club’s scouts continue to monitor his progress and are clearly impressed by the 20-year-old Ghanian international.
Yirenkyi is seen as an ideal profile by Liverpool because he can play in a number of different midfield roles – holding midfielder to a box-to-box no.8 and even as a full-back.
There is a belief that he could become an excellent squad player while also having the potential to be a starter in the future.
Now Anfield Watch can exclusively reveal that Liverpool have arranged to hold talks with Yirenkyi’s representatives during the March international break.
In this crucial period to determine Yirenkyi’s future, his agents and his family members will tour a number of clubs to hold discussions about their prospective visions for the future.
During this process, Liverpool officials will have an opportunity to present their plans and try to convince Yirenkyi’s representatives over a move to Anfield.
The 20-year-old is being eyed by a number of clubs ahead of the summer window. He is advised by former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien.
It is understood the player’s priority is playing time and having a clear pathway into regular football at a club that will facilitate his development in the best possible way.
