Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will be warmly received by the club’s fans in Ghana as they arrive there on January 4 to attend the CAF Player of the Year award ceremony.
The Reds duo were both shortlisted for the prestigious award alongside Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The CAF ceremony is scheduled for January 4 in Accra, Ghana, just one day before the Reds’ encounter with local rivals Everton at Anfield in the third round of the FA Cup, however, head coach Jurgen Klopp allowed both players to travel to attend the ceremony.
Fans of the English club in Ghana will be welcoming the two players taking advantage of such unique opportunity to interact with their club’s stars who have made great contributions to the team this season with Salah scoring 20 goals since his move from AS Roma this year.
Salah has been enjoying a spectacular season which resulted in winning the 2017 BBC African Player of the Year award earlier this month. The 25-year-old Egyptian winger also won the Premier League Player of the Month award for November and became the first ever Egyptian to win the PFA Player of the Month award.
