Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru again, was at his best quality on Thursday for RB Salzburg as they beat Samuel Tetteh’s LASK Linz 1-0 to seal passage to the finals of the AUSTRIA ÖFB CUP.
Hwang Hee-chan’s 50th minute strike was all that the hosts needed to beat LASK at the Red Bull Arena to seal qualification to the finals of the competition for the seventh time in a row.
Zambian forward Patson Daka provided the assist that gave Salzburg a 1-0 victory over LASK in the Austrian Cup semi-final, making it their first win in 2020.
Ashirmeru, 22, was very instrumental in the game with his intelligent delivery of passes in midfield for the Austrian powerhouse as they kicked his former WAFA teammate Samuel Tetteh’s side out of the competition.
The Black Meteors ace lasted the fully duration of the game but was booked in the 90th minute for tough tackle on his opponent.
Meanwhile, Samuel Tetteh had to start the game from bench after coming on to replace Dominik Frieser in the 56th minute.
